On Tuesday 19th March, Pendulum sponsored a business fair held inside Anfield football stadium, hosted by Liverpool BA.
As many others did, we got there early in the morning to unload all of the equipment and get the stand ready for business. Lauren, Jon and I got to work building goody bags stocked up with Pendulum items such as mints, trolley coins, pens and sweets, along with an information leaflet about what we can offer.
The main attraction for our table was the competition we held. Each participant who came over to our stand was invited to play the classic board game Operation. Successfully removing 3 of the items would result in a win which allowed the player to place their business card into the bowl, giving one lucky player the chance to win a bottle of Moët & Chandon Rosé Impérial Champagne. Although a lot of the participants never managed to remove 3 items (or play at all) we still allowed them to take part in the draw.
The business fair hosted talks from key note speakers at different stages throughout the day, one of them being Derek Redmond the famous retired athlete now turned motivational speaker, who gave a fascinating talk on how business and sport is more similar than you think!
Once we got back to the office, we drew a business card from the bowl and the lucky winner was Lauren English who is the Sales Executive for Hilton Liverpool City Centre.
I would advise anyone who is thinking of hosting a stand at an event similar to this, it can be a very good way to meet new people from all different types of businesses.
